Condo Maintenance Worker

A 240 unit condo complex in Deltona, FL is looking for a physically fit, hardworking individual willing to learn a variety of maintenance skills or add new maintenance skills to their existing skills.

Our maintenance staff helps to maintain our 60 four unit buildings, cleaning their exterior, painting, repairing and preserving them. We also maintain and repair cement sidewalks throughout the complex and perform minor asphalt repair on our private roadway. Other tasks include irrigation repair and maintenance and maintaining street and building night lighting. Maintenance staff also performs grounds maintenance mulching, planting, tree trimming, etc. (We have a landscape company that cuts the grass and trims hedges and other vegetation.) In addition maintenance responds to resident work orders that require Association attention.

Although maintenance does not repair or maintain the interior of individual condominiums, that’s an owner’s responsibility, there are certain circumstances requiring the Condo Association to make the repairs. For example, a roof lead that causes damage to a drywall ceiling in an owner’s condo.

Although not a job requirement, a plus is applicant who is certified in pool upkeep. We have a 65,000 gallon pool. Both the pool and deck around it have just been resurfaced. Another plus is an applicant who can start within a week.

Other requirements: Must pass a background check. Must be willing to work a 40 hour, Tuesday to Saturday shift, 8AM to 4PM. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work outside in hot summer weather. Must not have a record of changing jobs every year. Must have own transportation to and from work. Must be willing to assist the Lakeside Community in recovery in times of emergency (hurricanes, tornadoes, fire, etc.)

Starting salary based on current skills ranging from $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. Pay raises not based on anniversary, but based on performance and skill advances.
