Job Description: Quality Engineer
Location: Vicksburg, MI (On-site)

Reports To: Operations Manager
Role Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for owning the day-to-day execution of quality assurance and documentation activities. This role supports production and customer requirements by ensuring inspection processes, documentation, and quality records are completed accurately and consistently.
This position serves as a key link supporting AS9100 compliance, inspection execution, and customer documentation requirements. The Quality Engineer operates with a high level of attention to detail, organizational discipline, and accountability to ensure that all products and records meet internal and customer expectations.
Core Accountabilities:
Quality Documentation & AS9100 Compliance
Manage quality paperwork and job-related quality documentation
Prepare and maintain AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with customer requirements
Maintain organized quality records in accordance with AS9100D and internal procedures
Inspection & Measurement Support
Perform and support inspections using MicroVu, Keyence and other measurement tools
Verify parts meet print dimensions, specifications, and customer requirements
Support first article, in-process, and final inspection activities
Maintain organized inspection records and measurement data
SDR and NC Management
Generate and manage SDRs and nonconformance documentation
Coordinate communication related to quality issues with suppliers and internal teams
Track and document corrective actions and resolution status
Support root cause and corrective action activities as needed.
Coordination & Production Support
Manage external inspection vendors, maintain certification documentation
Support production teams with inspection clarification and documentation requirements
Identify and communicate quality risks or concerns before they impact customers
Required Qualifications
· Experience with AS9100 quality systems and documentation requirements
· Experience preparing AS9102 FAIR documentation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and specifications
Clear and professional communication skills
Ability to operate with urgency while maintaining accuracy under pressure
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency with computers and standard business software
Experience working within ERP and/or quality management systems
Experience with ERP Systems (SAP, JobBoss, E2, Oracle, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment
· Experience using MicroVu, Keyence or similar automated inspection systems
· Experience managing SDRs, nonconformances, and corrective actions
· Exposure to aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
