This role serves as a trusted advisor to division leadership, aligning regulatory and business goals with technology solutions.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions are practical, secure, and aligned with ODOC’s mission to protect Ohio consumers and businesses.
Primary Responsibilities Agency Strategy & Relationship ManagementPartner with ODOC leadership to understand regulatory processes (licensing, compliance, enforcement)Define how technology can streamline operations and improve citizen experienceShape and recommend technology modernization roadmapsAct as liaison between business divisions and IT leadershipDrive cross-functional collaboration and resolve competing prioritiesCommunicate IT initiatives clearly to executive stakeholdersDefine success metrics and demonstrate value of technology investments Technical Translation & Solution ValidationTranslate business needs into technical requirements (epics, high-level designs)Translate technical constraints into business impact for leadershipEvaluate solution architecture proposals for scalability, compliance, and feasibilityGuide resolution of complex issues in legacy environmentsCollaborate with data/analytics teams to support data-driven decision making Required Qualifications5+ years of experience in IT, with roles in:Business Relationship Management (BRM)Product ManagementStrategic IT ConsultingStrong understanding of Solution Architecture (high-level)Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and enterprise initiativesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to translate technical concepts into business language Preferred QualificationsExperience in state government, public sector, or regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare, compliance, etc.)BRMP certification or equivalentBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred) Key CompetenciesStrategic thinking & advisory mindsetStrong stakeholder engagement (executive + technical)Business & technology alignmentProblem-solving in complex/legacy environmentsData-driven decision making Ideal Candidate ProfileNot hands-on coding, but technically fluentStrong in business + IT alignmentExperience working in regulated environmentsAbility to influence leadership and drive modernization
