As a Functional Safety Manager, you will lead and coordinate functional safety activities for safety-critical semiconductor components used in autonomous and ADAS systems. Working closely with the global functional safety (FuSa) team and mixed-signal design teams (including Image Sensors), you will ensure that safety concepts are properly defined, implemented, verified, and compliant with ISO 26262 requirements across the product lifecycle.
You will act as the central point of contact for functional safety within your projects, driving execution, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage functional safety activities across projects in accordance with ISO 26262
Own and manage the safety plan, ensuring timely delivery of all FuSa work products
Define and manage FuSa requirements and own the technical safety concept
Ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement of safety mechanisms in OMNIVISION products (PMIC, CIS, MCU)
Coordinate and drive safety analysis activities (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA) and fault injection campaigns
Ensure product compliance with corporate functional safety processes and methodologies
Act as the main interface for functional safety in cross-functional engineering meetings and towards customer
Lead internal and external assessments and audits, ensuring product compliance with ISO 26262
Track safety metrics, risks, and issues, and report status to stakeholders
Collaborate with global design, verification, quality, and program management teams
Generate and review safety documentation and drive continuous process improvements
Provide training and guidance to global teams on safety processes and best practices
Requirements:
You MUST have-
Minimum B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
At least 4+ years of functional safety experience in the semiconductor industry
Strong experience with ISO 26262 and functional safety lifecycle management
Hands-on experience with safety analysis methods and tools (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA)
Experience leading safety activities within cross-functional development projects
Excellent communication, leadership, project management, and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills, self-driven, quality-minded, and detail-oriented
Excellent command of English as a working language
You MUST provide a cover letter outlining your desire to move to, live, and work in Oslo, Norway
You should have-
Experience with CMOS image sensors and CPU architectures
Mixed-signal design background
Knowledge of other safety standards such as IEC 61508
Knowledge of Automotive SPICE
Awareness of Cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434)
