Position Summary

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and guest experience of the Heather Gardens restaurant and bar. This role oversees daily operations, staff leadership, financial performance, and compliance, while ensuring a high-quality dining experience for residents and guests.

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the General Manager

Works in coordination with the Controller on financial performance and budgeting

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee all restaurant and bar operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance

Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls for food, beverage, and supplies

Ensure proper maintenance and operation of kitchen equipment and facilities

Maintain compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations

Plan and execute menus, including daily offerings and special events

Monitor portion control and preparation to minimize waste and control costs

Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency in food and service

Supervise bar operations to ensure compliance and profitability

Lead recruitment, training, development, and performance management of staff

Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet operational needs

Drive financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management

Communicate operational updates and challenges to the General Manager and Controller

Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction and promptly resolve concerns

Plan and support marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events

Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Colorado driver’s license

Valid automobile insurance

Acceptable driving record

Education & Experience

Minimum of 3+ years of restaurant management experience required

Additional leadership or multi-unit operations experience preferred

Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Proven ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions

Strong financial and business acumen

Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail

Commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive workplace

Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and business conditions

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Ability to build and maintain relationships with residents, staff, leadership, and Board members

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 45 pounds

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Ability to work in varying temperatures, including kitchen and freezer environments

Ability to operate a motor vehicle without restriction

Adequate vision and hearing (with or without correction)
