Project Manager Construction & MEP (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead MEP-focused projects across commercial, retail and hospitality sectors. The successful candidate will coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC scopes, manage contractors and trades, control budgets and schedules, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning and delivery of construction projects including ground-up builds, fit-outs, tenant improvements (TI), office renovations, retail and hospitality projects.
Manage MEP scopes (mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing) through design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and cash flow forecasts; proactively identify and mitigate risks to schedule and cost.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors and internal teams to ensure workmanship and compliance with plans and specifications.
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications and MEP shop drawings; resolve design and coordination issues with engineers and architects.
Oversee permitting, inspections and code compliance; ensure adherence to safety programs and site-specific safety plans.
Conduct regular site meetings, prepare progress reports and provide clear communication to clients, stakeholders and senior management.
Manage change orders, claims and contract administration; track project documentation, RFIs and submittals.
Implement quality control procedures and ensure final punch lists are completed prior to handover and occupancy.
Foster strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for project-related issues and status updates.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
3 years of project management experience in construction with strong MEP exposure (mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing).
Proven track record managing ground-up construction, fit-outs, tenant improvements (TI), office renovations, retail and hospitality projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, MEP systems, code requirements and commissioning processes.
Proficiency with project management tools and software, schedule and cost control (MS Project, Primavera, Procore or equivalent).
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; experience supervising multiple subcontractors and onsite teams.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and MEP shop drawings; experience coordinating multidisciplinary trades.
Experience managing budgets, change orders, contract administration, permitting and inspections.
OSHA or relevant safety certifications preferred; PMP or CCM certification a plus.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
