POSITION SUMMARY:
The Culinary Services Manager oversees all culinary operations, including meal planning, food preparation, catering services, and kitchen management. This role ensures the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining food safety standards, managing staff, and supporting the organization's mission through reliable and culturally responsive food services.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Plan, prepare, and oversee daily meal service and catering operations
Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and supervision
Develop menus that meet nutritional guidelines, dietary needs, and budget requirements
Coordinate catering for events, meetings, and special programs
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Order food, supplies, and equipment; manage inventory and control costs
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
Collaborate with program staff to support organizational events and wellness goals
Monitor food quality, presentation, and customer satisfactionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in food service, commercial kitchens, or catering operations
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environmentDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Culinary training or degree in culinary arts, hospitality, or food service management
Experience in nonprofit, wellness, or community-based food programs
Knowledge of nutrition, dietary restrictions, and culturally responsive meal planning
Experience managing budgets and inventory
ServSafe certification
