The Opportunity

The labor market in the Bay Area is at a breaking point. While businesses struggle with rising wages and staffing shortages, RobotLAB San Jose provides a turnkey solution: advanced autonomous industrial service robotics. We are looking for a Business Development Representative to help us own the San Jose territory.

This isn't a "box-moving" sales role. You will be working directly with the Branch President to identify high-value targets, navigate complex CapEx approval cycles, and establish the social proof that will define the future of facility management in Northern California.

Role Overview

The Fractional Business Development Representative drives new

business opportunities for our portfolio of autonomous service robots,

including commercial cleaning robots, delivery/material transport

robots, concierge/interactive robots, and more. This role is ideal for a

motivated, entrepreneurial salesperson who is already exposed to one

or more of the industries we sell into, as well as for someone with a

passion for technology.

This is a commission-only, flexible hours role, with significant earning

potential for someone who loves outreach, relationship building, and

selling innovative technology that solves real workforce challenges.

Key Responsibilities

- Prospect, cold-call, and in-person visits to key verticals including

senior living, hotels, schools, hospitals, restaurants,

corporate offices, third party cleaning companies, grocery

chains, retail and manufacturing

- Attend local chamber meetings and events

- Qualify leads, identify buyer needs, and position robot solutions

based on ROI, labor savings, and operational impact

- Set appointments, demos, and site evaluations

- Maintain a steady pipeline of outbound activity through calls,

emails, texts, LinkedIn, and in-person visits when applicable

- Document lead interactions in CRM (Salesforce)

- Collaborate with leadership to refine messaging, value

propositions, and outreach sequences

- Provide basic product education and generate excitement about

automation and workforce enhancement

- Participate in occasional onsite robot demos

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Proven experience in sales, business development, and lead

generation

- Comfortable with outbound activity, cold outreach

- Excellent communication skills –clear, confident, and

professional

- Highly motivated with strong time-management and follow-

through

- Ability to articulate ROI and operational benefits in simple,

persuasive terms

- Passion for emerging technology and the future of robotics in the

workplace
