Senior Machinist
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. We are looking for a technical expert who takes pride in tight tolerances and enjoys mentoring the next generation of machinists. Whether you prefer the collaborative energy of the day shift or the focused autonomy of the second shift, we have a place for your expertise.
Shift Details & Compensation
We are currently hiring for both First and Second shifts. Please specify your preference.
First Shift Start: 6:00 AM
Second Shift Start: 4:30 PM
Second Shift includes a shift premium.
Excellent compensation depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
High-Precision Setup: Set up and operate 3-to-5 axis CNC mills and lathes to produce complex parts with tolerances reaching 0.0002”.
Programming & Optimization: Perform "at-the-machine" G-code edits and collaborate with the programming team to optimize tool paths and reduce cycle times.
Quality Mastery: Conduct first-article inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, etc. to ensure 100% blueprint compliance.
Technical Leadership: Act as a mentor to junior machinists, troubleshooting setups and promoting a culture of safety and precision.
Tooling Management: Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures for various materials (Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, etc.).
Required Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years in a high-precision CNC environment.
Technical Literacy: Expert-level ability to read blueprints and a deep understanding of GD&T.
Shop Math: Strong proficiency in geometry and trigonometry for calculating offsets and angles.
Autonomy: Especially for Second Shift, the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and programming issues without immediate supervision.
Physical: Ability to lift 50 lbs and remain active on the shop floor for the duration of the shift.
