CNC Machine Operator – Milling

Location: Brooklet, GA

Pay: $21.00 – $31.00/hour

Shift: 3:00pm – 1:30am, Monday–Thursday

Overtime on Friday; occasional weekends

Role Summary

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling (and/or turning) machines to produce precision aerospace components. This role ensures parts meet strict quality and regulatory standards while maintaining productivity and efficiency in an AS9100 environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC mills/lathes to blueprint and GD&T requirements

Load programs, set tool offsets, and verify machine setups

Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections

Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges

Monitor tool wear and replace tooling as needed

Document inspection results and maintain part traceability per AS9100

Identify and segregate nonconforming material

Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and minor troubleshooting

Meet production targets while minimizing scrap and rework

Follow OSHA, company safety standards, and 5S practices

Communicate production status and issues during shift handoffs

Required Skills & Qualifications

2–5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge

Proficient with precision measurement and inspection techniques

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

High school diploma or equivalent; technical CNC training preferred

Preferred Experience

Aerospace manufacturing

AS9100-certified environments

Aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel

Basic G-code editing and troubleshooting

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed inspection

Manufacturing environment with moving equipment, cutting fluids, and moderate noise
