Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Machine Builder / Electrical Technician to support the build and deployment of custom equipment and automation systems. This role is heavily focused on mechanical assembly, with some electrical wiring and basic PLC troubleshooting.
This is not a programming role—ideal for someone who can build, wire, and troubleshoot equipment, and work closely with engineers to get machines up and running.
Key Responsibilities
Build and assemble custom machines and automation equipment
Perform mechanical assembly including frames, components, and subassemblies
Wire control panels and machine components (motors, sensors, etc.)
Assist with system startup, testing, and basic troubleshooting
Support PLC troubleshooting (I/O checks, diagnostics—not programming)
Perform light fabrication (cutting, drilling, basic welding) as needed
Work with engineering to improve designs and build processes
Maintain organized workspaces and support general shop needs (5S)
Qualifications
Experience as a machine builder, equipment assembler, or similar hands-on role
Ability to read mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics
Experience with electrical wiring (panels, sensors, motors, etc.)
Exposure to PLCs for troubleshooting (not required to program)
Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
Experience in manufacturing, automation, or machine shop environments preferred
Compensation: Based on experience, $30-38/hr
Ability to Travel 40% of the time to customer sites
