Job Description

Join Kearfott — A Century of Motion Control Leadership

Since 1918, Kearfott Corporation has pioneered precision motion control and inertial navigation for the world’s most demanding Aerospace and Defense applications. Our products guide missions across sea, land, air, and space, and our reputation for quality and innovation is trusted globally. A Day in the Life

You arrive to a well-equipped manufacturing floor where uptime matters. Your morning starts by reviewing overnight maintenance logs, prioritizing preventive tasks across mills, lathes, routers, grinders, and advanced machining centers. Midday, you’re deep into diagnosing a spindle vibration issue, reading schematics and wiring diagrams, checking servo motor feedback, and tuning Fanuc parameters to restore peak performance. Before the day ends, you commission a newly installed CNC cell, document service actions, and collaborate with production, engineering, and quality to lock in repeatable, reliable throughput. What You’ll Own

Planned and preventive maintenance on CNC equipment to minimize downtime and maximize tool life.

End-to-end troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; hands-on repairs to return assets to specification.

Diagnostics and parameter adjustments on CNC controls including Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Yasda, and Mazak.

Inspection and replacement of wear components: bearings, ball screws, servo motors, belts, and spindles.

Installation, alignment, calibration, and commissioning of new CNC machines and related systems.

Accurate documentation: maintenance logs, service records, and work procedures.

Cross-functional problem solving with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve performance issues.

Interpretation of manuals, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to guide diagnostics and repairs.

Strict adherence to safety standards, including lockout/tagout and company policies.

Continuous improvement recommendations to enhance uptime and reliability. Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree/certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field is a plus.

10+ years of CNC repair experience in a manufacturing environment (CNC maintenance strongly preferred).

Strong command of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Hands-on experience with CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, and Mazak.

Fluent in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Proficiency using precision instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, and test equipment).

Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.

Must be a US Citizen. Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs.

Stand, kneel, and work in confined spaces as tasks require.

Comfort operating in a production setting with noise, dust, and machinery. Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.

OSHA 10/30 or NFPA 70E electrical safety training.

Background in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing.

Awareness of cleanroom practices and ESD controls.

PLC troubleshooting or introductory programming (e.g., Fanuc). Compensation, Schedule, and Benefits

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $33.00 - $50.00 an hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, and internal consistency.
