Veterinary Technician

> Do you excel at working directly with veterinarians in proving high quality medical support and helping Veterinary Physicians with appropriate veterinary-related technical work, record keeping and communications activities?

> Do you enjoy playing a significant role in taking care of the everyday needs of pets in the hospital ward and also helping to maintain the quality and efficiencies with animal hospital facility?

> Are you experienced at the following?

> Restraining pets for veterinarians and technicians;

> Communicating and educate clients about preventative care, pet health needs, hospital services and other related issues;

> Obtaining relevant pet-related information and history from clients;

> Assisting the veterinarian with proper medical notes;

> Assisting in the taking of x-rays;

> Assisting veterinarian with surgery;

> Monitoring and collecting urine and fecal samples as needed,

> Monitoring, recording, and reporting physical signs and symptoms of hospitalized or boarded pets;

> Cleaning hospital ward cages and runs including exam rooms, treatment rooms and isolation areas;

> Maintaining the pharmacy and treatment area in a neat and sanitary condition;

> Providing clean bedding, water, and litter pans for hospital ward pets;

> Feeding hospitalized pets, as needed;

> Exercising hospitalized dogs as needed;

> Taking incoming pets to appropriate areas;

> Preparing pets for dismissal;

> Retrieving pets that are being discharged;

> Performing ear cleanings and nail trims;

> Preparing samples for outside laboratory analysis;

> Maintaining and using laboratory medical equipment;

> Supporting laundry services for hospitalized pets;

> Cleaning and sanitizing surgical instruments; and,

> Occasionally, performing closing procedures.
