About the Opportunity
A leading energy and industrial operations company is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support operations at a coke production facility in River Rouge, MI. This role is critical to maintaining the equipment and infrastructure used in the coke-making process, which supports steel production.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role in a heavy industrial environment. Ideal candidates will have experience working with mechanical systems, welding, rigging, and industrial maintenance in demanding conditions.

What You’ll Do
● Perform mechanical maintenance on equipment used in coke production
● Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and systems
● Perform precision cutting using burning torch
● Execute arc welding (SMAW) in 2F and 3F positions
● Complete pipe threading and fitting tasks
● Utilize rigging techniques to move and position equipment
● Read and interpret prints and mechanical drawings
● Work alongside operations teams to maintain production continuity
● Operate equipment as needed in support of maintenance tasks
● Participate in safety initiatives and maintain compliance standards
● Support environmental and operational policies and procedures
What You Bring
● High school diploma or GED
● Valid driver’s license
● 1–3+ years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
● Experience with:
● Torch cutting
● SMAW welding (2F & 3F)
● Pipe fitting and threading
● Basic rigging
● Blueprint reading
● Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
● Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
● Goal-oriented mindset with strong work ethic

● $2,500 sign-on bonus + $2,500 after 1,040 hours
● Quarterly bonuses up to $7,500 annually

Schedule
● 12-hour rotating shifts
● 4-week rotation
● Work 14 out of 28 days
● Includes a 7-day consecutive off period within rotation
Work Environment
● Heavy industrial / coke plant environment
● Exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, and machinery
● Requires PPE including respirators and protective gear
● Frequent lifting (up to 70 lbs) and physical activity
● Confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions
