Mold Maintenance Technician
Department: Mold Maintenance
Reports To: Department Head Overview
The Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and preparing molds used in the production of carbon fiber and fiberglass components across automotive, medical, and defense applications. This role ensures molds are production-ready, meet quality standards, and support efficient manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities
Load and unload molds and cured parts from autoclaves
Remove and dispose of consumable bagging materials
Disassemble molds using hand tools such as wrenches and impact drills
Prepare mold surfaces using sandpaper and other abrasive materials
Repair minor defects using resins and fiberglass materials
Safely extract composite parts using compressed air and non-metal tools
Clean molds thoroughly and apply release agents to prepare for reuse
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and company policies Requirements
Experience in manufacturing, composites, or mold maintenance preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
Ability to manage time effectively to meet production schedules
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment
Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
Flexible to work overtime based on production demands
Willingness to cross-train and adapt to changing responsibilities
Reliable transportation and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers
Ability to lift 20+ lbs; heavier molds handled with assistance or equipment Additional Information
