Position: Sr Finance Manager – R
Reporting to the Managing Director, Liquidity and Funding Management, this role is accountable for the quantitative measurement and analysis of the Bank’s liquidity and funding risks that arise from global business activities through the development of quantitative and stress testing models.
This involves utilizing leading model development methodologies and applying those methodologies to build robust, forward-looking models that link macro-economic variables and other business drivers to project liquidity and funding impacts.
In addition, the Senior Manager will also oversee the framework to deliver analytics to Liquidity and Funding Management and senior management across the Enterprise.
In practice, the Senior Manager will provide guidance to businesses and senior management on liquidity and funding risk mitigation, product development, and optimization.
In addition the incumbent will provide support for enhancing the liquidity risk framework, including risk assessment, measurement, limit methodology development, and participation in cross-departmental projects.

1.Business Delivery & Implementation
Develop strong relationships and collaborate with LOBs and other with cross-departmental teams on liquidity and funding matters;
Development and recommendation of enterprise wide liquidity and funding risk strategies to senior management;
Document and communicate model results and methodologies to external and internal stakeholders, in clear and concise manner, both verbally and in written form;
Accountable for ensuring relevant parties are appropriately informed and provided with relevant and timely information to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements;
Participate in the design and implementation of business processes to provide timely and accurate data and information for liquidity and funding risk assessment;
Lead to support the achievement of business objectives and the growth of the team by:
Establishing performance objectives, measuring and providing timely feedback;
Defining clear roles, tasks and expectations;
Ensuring staff are knowledgeable of products and procedures; and
Provide direction, coaching and training as required, developing and implementing plans for the continued development of direct reports and encouraging development.

Act as a subject matter expert on quantitative modeling of liquidity and funding matters, providing market expertise and advice to Liquidity and Funding Management, LOBs and other internal partners;
Maintain current knowledge of modeling techniques and their application;
Demonstrate strong project management, time management and relationship management skills to lead cross-functional internal and external teams to deliver results within tight deadlines; and
Coordinate with LOBs and functional groups in the Bank to develop and implement effective business processes to meet Corporate Treasury’s data and reporting requirements.
3.Risk Management and Control (Governance)
Keep abreast of regulatory developments and interpret the impact on Liquidity and Funding risk management measurement practices;
Develop and maintain models to ensure they appropriately capture the on-going impacts of liquidity and funding risks; and
Support the monitoring of liquidity and funding risks, including the risk mitigation provided by liquidity portfolios, to identify trends in assumptions and negative trends in relation to trigger events.
4.Client & Relationship Management (Support)
Key relationship management role with LOBs, Enterprise Market Risk Management, Capital Markets, Corporate Treasury, Corporate Accounting Group, Technology, Legal, Compliance and Operations; and
Develop cross-functional skills to assist other team members achieve Corporate Treasury and Bank goals, ensuring knowledge and skill remain commensurate with the requirements of the position.
SCOPE AND IMPACT
This job has an enterprise-wide scope and responsibility over activities that are significant in the context of the Bank’s balance sheet and P&L.
8-10 years of experience in Corporate Treasury, Capital Markets, Market Risk or Investment Banking
Strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze, evaluate and form independent judgments
Expert knowledge of financial analysis and financial modeling
Strong knowledge of capital markets, market risk, and hedging strategies an asset
Strong knowledge of various research tools, including Bloomberg
General knowledge of the Bank’s structure and accounting systems a positive
Degree in a quantitative field (Math, Stats or Engineering)/BA (Economics, Commerce), FRM or CFA with a PhD/Master’s degree in quantitative Finance/Mathematics/Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience in quantitative finance is a plus but not required.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Detail-oriented, analytical, well organized, highly self-motivated and good interpersonal skills
Strong computing development skills, particularly statistical and database modeling tools (SAS, SQL, QRM, MATLAB, Access/VBA, etc.), ability to adapt to various programming languages and environments.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet timelines with a high attention to detail and without compromising the integrity of the information
Strong project management skills and able to manage and lead cross functional teams
Advanced financial modeling skills
Self-starter with good commercial perspective and ability to work independently
Ability to synthesize technical information
Ability to interact with and build relationships with people from different departments and levels of seniority; comfort dealing with senior executives
