My client is seeking to hire a Director of Laboratory Services for a hospital in the Los Angeles area.

Job Summary:

As Director of Laboratory Services you will be responsible for the overall operation, direction, and administration of all Laboratory Operations in accordance with federal and state regulations.

You will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Lab oversees a wide variety of technical activities to ensure the effective and efficient operation of laboratory services.

Responsible for achieving quality improvement, fiscal, productivity and customer/employee satisfaction goals and objectives in laboratory areas.

Oversee laboratory operations following best practices and regulatory guidelines and promoting exceptional patient care.

Serve as leader and mentor managing clinical and non-clinical staff, encouraging staff retention, professional development and positive team environment.

Provide leadership and works closely with laboratory staff, pathologists, as well as physicians, office staff and managers of other departments to guide operations and coordinate technical services.

Establish policies and procedures and evaluates employee performance, maintains quality assurance program.

Evaluate program with regard to overall effectiveness, safety, and makes recommendations for changes and improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

*At least 5 years of progressive management experience in Laboratory Operations.

*At least 6 years experience as a Medical Technologist providing laboratory services in a hospital setting.

*Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or other healthcare related field required.

*Master's Degree is preferred

*Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.

*Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT) registration or equivalent.

*Must meet CLIA requirements for General Supervisor as applicable.
