**TITLE** Registered Nurse – Oncology/Hematology **SCHEDULE** Shift ratio: 1:6 (days/nights/weekends) Weekend requirement: every other weekend **ASSIGNMENT DETAILS** Contract Length: Not specified Guaranteed Hours: Not specified **REQUIREMENTS** - Minimum 2 years clinical experience; first-time travelers accepted - Required certifications: BLS and OCN - Familiarity with oncology continuum and oncologic emergencies required - Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring - Proficient in central/implanted line care and accessing/managing ports - Patient ratio experience: 1:6 - Previous charge experience preferred **ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES** - Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an oncology/hematology unit.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including chemotherapy and blood products.
- Monitor patient's health status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and self-care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
**COMPLIANCE / NOTES** - Orientation hours: 24 (additional non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length) - RTO (Request Time Off): maximum 7 days; RTO required with submission - Holiday expectation: traveler expected to work major holidays as outlined in policy
