As a Development Officer, you will execute and support real estate development opportunities. This position plays a critical role in aligning strategic business initiatives with vendors and internal team members. In addition, you are actively watching and analyzing the market for trends, analyzing portfolios to cultivate new opportunities, and implementing new projects.

Responsibilities/Execution:

Work in collaboration with SVP, Development Officers, and key internal stakeholders to forecast and leverage opportunities

Stay up to date with current market trends and market forces to incorporate into current and future sales strategies

Manage and develop an extensive network of contacts within the targeted real estate markets

Use Company marketing resources to maintain a cohesive marketing message and promote the Company brand as needed

Analyze existing economic, demographic, market, and environmental variables to identify areas for expansion

Provide budget projection of income and expenses, specific objectives, initiatives for the year, and resource requirements to the SVP for the annual Development plan and budget

Interface with clients, tenants, and other customers while managing the General Contractor, and other select vendors in a way that engenders confidence in Equity and our capabilities, and maximize efficiency

Guiding projects to the finish line, ensuring a smooth baton pass to Asset Mgmt and Property Mgmt.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused orientation and responsive, demonstrated ability to work well under tight deadlines and employ time management to prioritize projects and keep the projects running smoothly.

• Excellent analytic skills

• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner and influence at all levels; excellent presentation skills

• Organized with strong attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and client/company needs

• Demonstrated ability to work with various personalities and effectively adjust to other working styles while simultaneously achieving goals and objectives

•Sound decision-making capabilities demonstrated ability to create persuasive and compelling recommendations • Strong collaboration and organization skills with the ability to build strategies and manage deliverables in an efficient, timely manner.

• Thorough understanding of real estate disciplines and processes, along with an advanced understanding of financial concepts

• Ability to identify and communicate risks and recommended courses of action to the SVP and owner

Education & Certifications:

Associate’s degree in Construction Management or Business Administration preferred.

2 years working in a construction or project management role preferred.

Previous multifamily project experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of construction procedures and materials, prior use of Procore, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project, preferred.
