Title: Technical Trainer
Location: Columbus, OH or Indianapolis, IN
Duration: 3+ Months (with possibility of extension)
Pay Range: $35-40/hr on W2
About the job:
The Technical Trainer works with a team of trainers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within a corporate university team environment. This is a 100% in-person, onsite role. The Technical Trainer is primarily responsible for high-volume delivery of technical instruction to adults, spending 75% or more of your time delivering instruction per week following a pre-determined training program.
As a member of the team, you will serve as a role model by consistently modeling ideal behavior, professionalism, and excellence at all times. You will work closely with other trainers, managers, stakeholders, and clients to assess training needs and ensure the successful deployment of next-generation infrastructure technologies.
What You’ll Do:
Facilitate employee training and onboarding using approved materials.
Deliver technical instruction including lecture, hands on activities, labs, and various assessments.
Provide remediation and support for students to ensure learning outcomes.
Consult with other trainers, managers, and leadership.
Track and compile collected data for accurate training reports.
Document employee performance and outcomes of training.
Review, test, and provide feedback on training materials.
Prepare and maintain training facilities including daily cleaning and setup.
Stay current on the latest data center tools and infrastructure best practices.
Coordinate and monitor enrollment, schedules, and equipment.
Develop and coordinate training schedules.
Assess training needs through surveys and interviews.
Support the conceptualization and development of new training materials.
Communicate training needs and online resources as appropriate.
Participate in mentorship and professional development from Senior Trainers.
Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Travel as needed.
What You’ll Need:
3-6 years of experience in a technical field (telecommunications, data centers, electrical, or similar trades).
Demonstrated ability to explain complex tasks to others (e.g., experience as a field lead or peer mentor).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with various levels of management.
Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
Willingness to obtain Telecommunication Industry Certifications (such as BICSI) within the first 12 months of employment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
