The Calaveras County Office of Education ("CCOE") partners with our four local school districts and the community to provide quality education to our county's 5,270 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency ("RLA") for the Special Education Local Plan Area ("SELPA"); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22).

Job Summary

Under general supervision of the program administrator and the direction of a specific certificated staff member, the AU Transition Program Aide performs the necessary duties in the implementation of a program for special needs students in classrooms, performing a variety of supportive tasks to facilitate learning activities and life skill development, including operating a vehicle (i.e. a car, van, or other vehicles capable of transporting up to 7-passengers; excluding a school bus, school pupil activity bus, or youth bus) over designated rural, mountainous routes for a variety of reasons including but not limited to transporting students safely and efficiently; driving students to and from special events; delivering instructional materials, equipment, and various other items; and, performing related work as required.

CPR/First Aid Certification

Letter of Introduction

Letter(s) of Reference (Three Required; preferably from former employers or supervisors)
