As a Software Engineer 4 - Contingent, you will be part of the Development Department supporting innovative platform capabilities and technical initiatives.

**Job Title:** Java Developer / Software Engineer **Location:** West Des Moines, IA **What's the Job?** + Analyze requirements for developer enablement frameworks, tools, and platform capabilities to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
+ Evaluate existing systems and constraints to recommend clear, actionable solutions that enhance platform efficiency.
+ Contribute to the design and prototyping of platform features and reusable capabilities, building proof of concepts and assessing technical feasibility.
+ Break down complex engineering work into manageable iterations that deliver measurable value and high-quality, production-ready code.
+ Partner with product owners and stakeholders to refine scope, acceptance criteria, and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
**What's Needed?** + 5+ years of experience in modern engineering stacks such as Java, Spring Boot, React, Node.js, Microservices, Kafka, and MongoDB.
+ Strong understanding of cloud native architectures and CI/CD best practices.
+ Hands-on experience with automated testing, diagnostics, and performance tuning.
+ Proficiency in applying Domain Driven Design (DDD) concepts and modern engineering patterns.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
