We are seeking a Correction Records Management Officer in the Office of Records and Sentence Computation in Central Office, located at 30 W. Spring St., Columbus, OH 43215.

The Correction Records Management Officer duties include, but are not limited to:

Requires considerable knowledge of records management in order to review youth records and independently manage systems of data collection (e.g., JJCMS, OnBase, and electronic drives for the DYS juvenile correctional facilities and the Bureau of Parole)

Maintains inventory of youth records and controls distribution of youth records through a tracking system

Adheres to record retention periods based on authorized schedules established by DYS and/or Department of Administrative Services [DAS]

Ensures the initial identification of Juvenile Sex Offender Registration and Notification (JSORN) and Serious Youthful Offender requirements

Works directly with the Chief Inspector or designee with the review of new arrivals and youth preparing to be released through the Law enforcement computer systems (e.g., law enforcement automated data system (LEADS) to receive confidential information

Researches the Confinement Credit Addendum and AWL Court Hearings results for pending warrants and detainers

Updates the Juvenile Justice Correctional Management System (JJCMS) with youth’s pending detainers & prepares necessary documentation for Recommitment of Rolls

Serves as liaison between institution staff & law enforcement to monitor receipt of the results of court hearings

Attends meetings, trainings & conferences; may give presentations & conduct trainings

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals & percentages & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in records management (e.g., record retention, document management, confidentiality).

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check that includes results from BCI & FBI. This position is required to become LEADS certified. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.

All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services must complete a mandatory 3 week pre-service training located at DYS Training Academy in Orient, Ohio. The hours for the training academy are Monday through Thursday, 7\:00 am - 5\:00 pm.
