The purpose of the HACCP/Foreign Material position is to detect and eliminate foreign material or potential sources of foreign material within production areas.
Functions and Responsibilities:
Manage/Complete Pre-Op procedures in specified area(s) daily to evaluate machine readiness
Audit/Evaluate machinery routinely ensuring that the risk for foreign material contamination is eliminated
Audit/Evaluate machine operators routinely ensuring that the risk for foreign material contamination is eliminated
Audit/Evaluate production lines and products routinely ensuring that the risk for foreign material contamination is eliminated
Deactivate & Reactivate production lines as needed
Complete and submit work orders for maintenance as needed, following up to ensure the needed maintenance was sufficiently completed
Counsel/discipline/re-train machine operators on protocols as needed (with the machine operator’s assigned supervisor)
Promote a culture of integrity as it relates to food quality throughout the plant
Manage and evaluate new machine operators on foreign material protocols and procedures
Train employees on new foreign material procedures
Develop/implement new, more efficient foreign material procedures, protocol (with the approval of the Foreign Materials Supervisor)
Complete forms, reports, documentation procedures as assigned
Assist in the preparation for audits- Customer and annual certification audits
Building and maintaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships with the operations team and USDA.
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
High School Diploma and 3-5 years of work experience related to quality assurance (food manufacturing industry is a plus)
Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written format
Ability to work in a physical, manufacturing environment
Ability to investigate and follow-up on foreign material issues identified
Must possess strong organizational and verbal & written communication skills.
