Duties and Responsibilities
Install Drives and program.
Trouble shoot PLC/Automation systems.
Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and develop sustainable solutions for issues with equipment to include: PLC controlled equipment, Automation systems, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems including motors, instrumentation, distribution.
Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting issues and assist with installation of new equipment as needed.
Repair sinks, hoses, waterlines, toilets, and plumbing equipment.
Complete all building repairs, maintain walls, ceilings, and floors in good repair.
Establishes and maintains the necessary policies and controls to assure a safe and orderly work environment; administers plant safety and housekeeping programs.
Ensure safety and food-safety by following all company, OSHA, and government rules and procedures including: Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, personal safety and food safety/SQF Program standards.
Knowledge of procedures, work instructions and associated paperwork as required.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Proven maintenance experience.
Strong leadership and training skills.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Related degree from a technical college preferred.
Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
Experience performing routine maintenance.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Detail oriented and self-motivated.
Professional presentation and attitude.
Be a self-starter and work independently in the absence of a supervisor.
Strong time management skills.
Maintain a clean work area and follow all Food Safety rules.
Welding and Fabrication experience preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate in written, verbal, and interpersonal levels with all levels of the organization.
Must be safety conscious and comply with safety rules and regulationsWhat You Bring
Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience required
High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred
Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Skilled with mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment setup
Welding/Fabrication experience is a plus
Strong communication and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and make good decisions
Safety-conscious and reliable
