Mechanical Technician Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: based on experience Overview We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical/Electrical Technician to support the build and deployment of advanced hardware systems in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
This role involves working closely with engineering and operations teams to assemble, test, and improve mechanical and electrical systems used in manufacturing and automation applications.
The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic setting with evolving priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the build and deployment of hardware systems and equipmentAssemble mechanical and electrical components and subassembliesPerform light fabrication work (cutting, bending, drilling, welding) to support prototyping and testingCollaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on design and process improvementsSupport general facility needs and maintain organized, efficient workspaces (5S)Assist with troubleshooting and resolving hardware-related issues QualificationsTechnical training, trade school certification, associate degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent hands-on experienceExperience assembling, troubleshooting, and working with mechanical and electrical systemsFamiliarity with fabrication or machine shop environmentsExperience working with small, delicate, or precision componentsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentComfortable adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced settingExperience with metrology tools (e.g., 3D scanning or measurement systems) is a plus Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsComfortable using shop tools and equipmentAbility to climb ladders, bend, and work in various physical positions
