Mechanical HVAC Installer (LEED / High-Performance Buildings)

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical HVAC Installer with experience in high-performance and energy-efficient building systems to support commercial construction projects across Ohio. This role focuses on the installation of HVAC systems aligned with LEED standards and sustainable building practices.
The ideal candidate has strong field experience, understands modern mechanical systems, and takes pride in delivering quality work on complex commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
Install, assemble, and start up commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, RTUs, VAV systems, chillers, and ductwork
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans to ensure accurate system installation
Support projects pursuing LEED certification by following sustainable construction practices and energy-efficiency standards
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure proper system integration
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality control checks
Maintain compliance with local Ohio codes, safety standards, and company protocols
Assist with retrofits, upgrades, and commissioning of existing systems
Qualifications
3+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience (5+ preferred)
Experience with energy-efficient or green building projects strongly preferred
Familiarity with LEED projects or sustainable construction practices
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and airflow principles
OSHA certification preferred
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Experience
Experience on hospitals, labs, data centers, or large commercial projects
Exposure to commissioning or building automation systems (BAS)
Knowledge of refrigerant handling and EPA certification
