Description:

1. Supporting the development of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) for both the primary cellular service link and the secondary TT and C, as well as the feeder link, utilizing a proprietary

protocol for radio functions as well as wireless system/waveform design and 3GPP standards including NR and NR-NTN.

2. Responsible for implementing strategies for SDR data acquisition to facilitate successful testing, verification, and validation, which includes planning and leading modem algorithm,

programming, and verification activities.

3. Evaluating SDRs for incorporation into Lynk’s payload and spacecraft systems, and planning and conducting electrical engineering analysis and design projects supporting development

of RF circuits for use in commercial satellite communication systems, including associated firmware integration and subsystem integration.

4. Understanding the hardware-based requirements of SDRs, such as FPGA size, speed, internal clock stability, I/O interfaces, sample rates, dynamic range, radio chip architecture,

gains, and filtering as the signal progresses within the SDR, essential for comprehensive modem design.

5. Designing and evaluating digital signal processing - DSP algorithms for satellite communication systems by working across the receiver baseband chain, designing and optimizing DSP

modules (including detectors, LDPC-related processing, and decision-feedback/iterative interference cancellation approaches) with a focus on high throughput and spectral efficiency.

6. Updating or creating host interface software to interact with the SDRs.

7. Developing test software and drivers to support unit, integration, and system testing of all SDR software functions using tools and platforms common to the industry, including MATLAB,

Cadence Incisive/Xcelium, SystemVerilog, UVM, C++, and Python.

8. Writing this software in C, C++, or other languages in a Linux environment, covering DSP/baseband signal-processing aspects required for modem firmware delivered and integrated

into hardware devices such as modems. This includes translating modem system designs into firmware targeted bit-exact fixed-point implementations using MATLAB, C++, and Python.

9. Working with other software team members to benchmark payload software applications.

10. Testing and evaluating hardware blocks both in simulation and on target, utilizing industry-standard tools such as MATLAB, Cadence Incisive/Xcelium, SystemVerilog, UVM, C++, and

Python.

11. Developing and maintaining documentation and ICDs for in-house IP blocks and other SDR-related software, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring designs into

large-scale production.

Requires three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must have included:

a. Planning and leading modem algorithm design, programming, and verification activities, including DSP/baseband signal-processing aspects required for modem firmware delivered and

integrated into hardware devices such as modems.

b. Working on the entire wireless receiver baseband chain, designing and optimizing DSP modules (including detectors, LDPC modules, and decision-feedback/iterative interference

cancellation approaches), with a focus on high throughput and spectral efficiency.

c. Translating modem system designs into firmware targeted bit-exact fixed-point implementations using MATLAB, C++, and Python, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring

designs into large-scale production.

d. Planning and conducting electrical engineering analysis and design projects supporting development of RF circuits for use in commercial satellite communication systems, including

associated firmware integration and subsystem integration.
