Heavy Machinery Mechanic

Job Description

The Heavy Machinery Mechanic will work primarily with heavy trucks, construction, and mining equipment, maintaining and repairing complex mechanical and hydraulic systems. Operating within a small team of 3 members, this role requires hands-on expertise using basic diagnostic tools and manual equipment. The position involves local travel to various sites to perform preventive maintenance and repairs, ensuring machinery remains operational and safe.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair on construction and mining equipment

Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic system issues

Conduct diagnostics using basic devices and manual tools

Replace worn or damaged parts to ensure optimal equipment performance

Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce downtime

Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed

Collaborate effectively within a small maintenance team

Travel locally to service machinery at various sites

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy machinery maintenance

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

Mechanical repair expertise

Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems

Welding skills

Proven ability in preventive maintenance
