Job Description
Job Title: DCS Project Manager / Worker
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Cheyenne, WY
Wage Range: $27-34 per hour
Job Description: The Data Center Support (DCS) Project Manager/Worker is a hands-on, field-active role responsible for the day-to-day execution of facility support services across data center campuses. Work scope includes general handyman and building maintenance tasks, site improvements, landscape maintenance, snow removal, pressure washing, line striping, and subcontractor coordination — with a consistent focus on quality control across all services delivered. This is not a desk role. The right candidate is equally comfortable managing a project plan and picking up a tool to get the job done. Success in this seat requires demonstrated project management experience in a field environment, the ability to stay actively involved in project scope while maintaining quality standards, and the capacity to manage multiple concurrent work orders and crews operating across different locations simultaneously, all within the compliance and access requirements of a mission-critical facility.
Roles & Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Serves as the on-site point of contact for day-to-day operational communication; scheduling coordination, ongoing work status, and minor client-initiated requests are handled promptly and with ownership.
All issues, concerns, or scope changes are escalated to the DCS Account & Operations Lead before engaging the client directly.
Builds and maintains a trusted relationship on-site so that TFM is seen as a long-term partner, not just a vendor.
Project & Work Order Execution
Plans and manages all assigned DCS work orders from initiation to close; right scope, right crew, right materials, on time.
Coordinates scheduling around client and facility constraints, minimizing disruption to data center operations.
Performs hands-on facility support work alongside the crew when needed. This role leads from the front!
Identifies and communicates scope creep or resource gaps to DCS Account & Operations Lead in advance; never absorbs problems silently.
Site Safety & Compliance
Enforces all site-specific protocols: access control, badging, ESD protocols, clean room environment and safety standards.
Ensures every crew member on-site is properly trained, credentialed, and briefed before work begins.
Responds to safety concerns, near-misses, or incidents immediately and reports them accurately to the DCS Account & Operations Lead without delay. All root cause analysis forms (RCA) are documented within 24 hours.
Documentation & Reporting
Completes all work orders, shift logs, and inspection records on the same day.
Provides DCS Account & Operations Lead with a clear weekly status summary.
Maintains an organized, audit-ready site file that reflects what was done, when, by whom, and to what standard.
Crew Coordination & Leadership
Coordinates and directs crew members loaned from Indoor and Outdoor Operations. The crew knows the scope, standard, and client context before stepping on site.
Holds loaned crew members accountable to TFM's core values and the elevated standards of a mission-critical environment while on the DCS account with respect, not just authority.
Safety accountability does not stop at the job site they are standing on; owns crew adherence to all site safety requirements for every DCS-directed work order, regardless of whether they are physically present.
Qualifications:
3 years experience in Outdoors Maintenance
2 years general handyman experience
2 years project management experience
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions.
