About Etched

Etched is building the world's first AI inference system purpose-built for transformers - delivering over 10x higher performance and dramatically lower cost and latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep & parallel chain-of-thought reasoning agents. Backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the fastest growing industry in history.

Job Summary

We're looking for a hands-on Teamcenter Developer who enjoys building and customizing systems that engineers rely on every day. You'll primarily focus on development within our Siemens Teamcenter PLM environment-extending data models, building custom functionality, and improving the overall user experience-while also contributing to the day-to-day operation of our PLM and CAD ecosystem.

In this role, you'll work across development and system operations: supporting deployments, debugging issues, and helping maintain stable environments across dev, test, and production. You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure they can efficiently manage product data, BOMs, and change processes, while also contributing to integrations across internal systems and with external partners like suppliers and manufacturing.

You'll also play a supporting role in areas like user access (roles and permissions), CAD tool coordination, and general system usability-stepping in where needed to keep things running smoothly without losing focus on development work.

This role is critical to scaling our PLM capabilities. By taking ownership of both development and targeted operational support, you'll help improve engineering velocity, reduce friction in day-to-day workflows, and free up architecture and leadership to focus on higher-impact initiatives like automation and system design.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and customize Teamcenter solutions to support evolving business needs

Use BMIDE to extend data models, workflows, and system behavior

Customize and enhance Teamcenter Active Workspace (AW), including updating stylesheets and UI elements

Develop and maintain integrations, scripts, and backend customizations (ITK, SOA, APIs, etc.)

Own and support the development lifecycle:

Code, test, debug, and deploy features across dev, test, and production environments

Support unit testing, UAT, and post-deployment validation

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within Teamcenter, with a focus on root cause analysis

Provide light operational and admin support as needed:

Assist with deployments and environment management

Support user issues and system stability

Help manage user roles, permissions, and access when needed

Collaborate with engineers, IT, and external partners to build scalable solutions and integrations

Contribute to improving system performance, usability, and engineering workflows

Document technical designs, configurations, and development practices You may be a good fit if you have:

Bachelor's or Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Hands-on experience with Teamcenter development and customization

Strong working knowledge of BMIDE

Experience with Teamcenter Active Workspace (AW), including UI customization and stylesheet updates

Solid software development foundation (Java, C++, or similar)

Experience developing integrations or working with APIs/services

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Comfortable working across the full development lifecycle

Familiarity with PLM concepts (BOMs, product structures, lifecycle states, change management)

Familiarity with Jira tools for managing support tickets Benefits

Medical, dental, and vision packages with generous premium coverage

$500 per month credit for waiving medical benefits

Housing subsidy of $2k per month for those living within walking distance of the office

Relocation support for those moving to San Jose (Santana Row)

Various wellness benefits covering fitness, mental health, and more

Daily lunch and dinner in our office

How we're different

Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.

We are a fully in-person team in San Jose and Taipei, and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
