Job Title: 1st and 2nd Shift Press Machine Operator

Job Description

This role involves setting up and operating a variety of brake press, punch press, and laser equipment in a clean manufacturing environment. The Machine Operator reads and interprets detailed blueprints, adjusts machines to precise specifications, and performs quality checks on finished parts. The position requires frequent lifting of heavy stainless-steel components and consistent use of measuring tools to ensure accuracy and product quality.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate brake presses, punch presses, and laser equipment according to production requirements and specifications.

Read and interpret detailed blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup parameters for each job.

Adjust machine settings, tooling, and fixtures to meet job specifications and ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot presses and related equipment to identify and resolve issues that affect quality, safety, or productivity.

Use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors to verify part dimensions and ensure accuracy.

Perform regular quality checks on parts during and after production to confirm they meet required standards.

Lift and position heavy pieces of stainless steel, weighing 50+ pounds, onto machines on a consistent basis.

Operate and rotate between up to four different brake presses throughout the week as production needs change.

Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with plant standards.

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.

Essential Skills

At least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment setting up and operating lasers.

At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting presses in a production setting.

At least 2 years of experience working from detailed blueprints.

Proficiency using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors.

Ability to consistently lift 50+ pounds as part of daily duties.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience setting up and operating brake presses and punch presses.

Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions and specifications accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working with Cincinnati presses.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple setups during the week.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean manufacturing plant that operates modern brake press, punch press, and laser equipment, including multiple brake presses used throughout the week. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., offering a four-day workweek. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a t-shirt, suitable for a hands-on production setting. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and consistent use of measuring tools and production equipment while handling heavy stainless-steel materials.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
