Applications Engineer (GenAI) (Ex- Retail)

Location: Remote (PST Hours)

Duration: 3-Month Contract

Hands-on experience with React, Node.js, Databricks, and Generative AI (LLMs), along with strong debugging, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support the testing, validation, and enhancement of a cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) application. This role will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Analytics, and Program teams to improve system performance, usability, and reliability within a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

Test and enhance a GenAI-powered application built using React, Node.js, and Databricks with modern LLMs

Identify issues, provide feedback, and help improve system quality, safety, and user experience

Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and program teams to validate application functionality

Support use cases across materials manufacturing, sourcing, costing, and planning

Work closely with engineers, analysts, and material developers to optimize workflows

Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and improving application performance

Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement efforts

Required

Bachelor's degree with 8-9+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Hands-on experience with React, Node.js, and Databricks

Exposure to Generative AI / LLM-based applications

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

Experience working with AI/ML or GenAI applications in production environments

Familiarity with materials, manufacturing, or supply chain domains

Experience working in retail or product-based organizations
