Data Engineer w Cobol

Must Have Skills:

7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing and analytics technologies

5+ years of experience with Informatica or any other ETL tools

5+ years of exp in Shell scripting

5+ years of experience with either Linux or AIX

7+ years of experince with Oracle

Cobol: - Not coding in COBOL. However, they need to understand COBOL code and ensure it works. How to compile and how to make it run.

Preferred:

AWS,Azure or (Airflow) is preferred

Team Info:

We are seeking to migrate the IDA platform from IBM AIX to an on-premises Linux environment. This migration will encompass the transfer of Oracle databases, as well as Cobol and Pro*C components. Our goal is to ensure a seamless transition while maintaining system integrity and performance.

Expected outcome:

Migrate the current IDA platform on IBM AIX to Linux. This includes

Cloning and compiling the code base ( Shell scripts, COBOL, Pro*C, Oracle StoredProcedures & pacakges )

Install syncsort ( from Precisely) on Linux and compile the libraries in Linux.

Integrate syncsort libraries with Pro*C & Cobol and ensure reports run in the new environment.

Oracle Database migration

Informatica can load & process files

Ensure the 20+ applications can connect to the IDA platform ( via Direct Connect JDBC, SQL server integration services, Python)

Establish OBIEE (PSW reporting) connectivity and run one report.
