Position Summary:
The Learning and Development Manager is a strategic, people-focused role responsible for driving the growth, development, and long-term effectiveness of the software engineering organization. This individual will lead the design and implementation of frameworks, programs, and cultural initiatives that support skill development, career progression, and functional excellence across software, QA, and data engineering teams. The role will work cross-functionally with technical leaders, product partners, and HR to ensure engineers are supported, engaged, and positioned for success in a high-performing environment. This position reports to the VP of Technology and is based in Mount Arlington, New Jersey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Career Development & Growth
Build and maintain career development frameworks aligned to MedPro's goals and engineering roles.
Provide 1:1 coaching for engineers on skill development, growth paths, and performance milestones.
Support performance reviews by providing insights, frameworks, and calibration tools.
Functional Excellence
Define and maintain role expectations and skill matrices for all defined Product Delivery engineering domains.
Promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and learning initiatives across functions.
Partner with Product Delivery leadership to identify skill gaps and align training initiatives.
Culture & Enablement
Advocate for engineers across teams, surfacing feedback and facilitating healthy team dynamics.
Lead initiatives that foster inclusion, growth mindsets, psychological safety, and technical excellence.
Continuously improving onboarding, mentoring, and internal mobility programs.
Engineering Growth Programs
Design and manage lightweight growth initiatives such as guilds, mentoring circles, and internal learning forums (within ~5% of engineer time).
Collaborate with VP of Technology, Director of Product Delivery and HR to align promotions, compensation, and recognition with career frameworks and goals.
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree

Deep understanding of technical career growth and how to support engineers across multiple disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and influence without direct authority.
Strong organizational and communication skills; able to facilitate change across functions and personalities.
Passion for people development and an inclusive, transparent culture designed to help engineers grow in their careers.
Experience working cross-functionally within Product Delivery domains.
Experience building or running engineering career frameworks or ladders.
Exposure to scaling engineering orgs (30-100+ engineers).
Familiarity with Agile delivery, engineering metrics, and technical program management.
Preferred Skills
Understanding of AI-assisted development, testing, and productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, etc.) preferred.
Years' Experience
10+ years of leadership development and coaching experience preferably supporting the technology sectirre engineering, engineering leadership, or engineering operations.
