Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Snowflake Developer / Scripting Expert to support the design, development, and optimization of cloud-based data solutions. This role requires deep expertise in Snowflake, SQL, and data modeling, with hands-on experience preparing data for analytics and business intelligence platforms such as Tableau and Power BI. The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor who can work independently, follow best practices, and deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions. Key Responsibilities • Review existing data solutions and develop new algorithms following best practices to ensure performance, data integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle. • Utilize Snowflake Scripting to implement advanced procedural logic in SQL, enabling complex data transformations and control flows. • Develop and maintain scripting for: o Incremental data updates o Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 2) o Raw data transformations o Semantic data models for analytics consumption • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines in Snowflake, supporting data ingestion from both on-premises and cloud-based data sources. • Optimize Snowflake data storage, compute usage, and query performance to ensure cost efficiency and scalability. • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data structures support downstream analytics and reporting needs. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Snowflake / SnowSQL Developer • 8+ years of experience working with: o SQL development o Data transformation o Dimensional data modeling for analytics • Strong expertise in: o Snowflake Scripting o Data warehouse and analytics architectures o Incremental loading strategies and SCD methodologies • Proficiency with: o Azure Data Factory o Microsoft SQL Server o Python o DBT • Experience preparing and modeling data for analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and best practices • Ability to work independently in a contract/sub-contract environment Nice to Have • Experience supporting enterprise-scale data environments • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance considerations • Strong documentation and communication skills
