Responsibilities
• Provide daily classroom coverage for absent teachers across multiple subject areas
• Deliver teacher-prepared lesson plans and instructional materials as directed
• Maintain classroom management and uphold Delta High School behavioral expectations
• Take accurate attendance and follow school procedures for reporting
• Supervise students in a safe and structured learning environment
• Maintain a professional and positive learning environment for all students
• Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and office staff regarding assignments and student concerns
• Adapt to a variety of classroom settings and student needs
• Follow all District policies, school procedures, and confidentiality requirements
• Report to work daily and remain available for assignment throughout the school day
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must meet Highly Qualified requirements through completion of at least 48 semester hours, an Associate's degree, or passing a District-approved academic assessment
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a structured environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow lesson plans and provide basic instructional support
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
• Basic computer and technology proficiency
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working with adolescents preferred
• Substitute teaching experience preferred
• Teaching license preferred but not required
