Job Title: Child Respite Provider

Youth Respite Provider (Part-Time)

We are seeking a compassionate, attentive, and reliable Youth Respite Provider to support an incredible 12-year-old with autism. This role involves providing one-on-one care in the child’s home, with a focus on safety, emotional regulation, and creating a structured yet nurturing environment.

This is a part-time position designed to give the parent occasional support and relief a few times per month. Scheduling is flexible and arranged in advance.

Schedule:

• Flexible, scheduled in advance with parent

• Primarily evenings after school

• Occasional weekends and summer hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive, one-on-one supervision during all activities (indoor and outdoor)

• Support emotional regulation using calm, consistent, and patient approaches

• Engage in age-appropriate activities such as walks, scooter rides, movies, and video games

• Encourage positive social interaction and routine-based structure

• Maintain clear, open communication with the parent

Ideal Candidate:

• Calm, observant, and safety-focused

• Experience working with children or teens with autism or sensory needs preferred

• Comfortable balancing active play with quiet, supportive downtime

• Skilled in de-escalation, redirection, and following established routines

• Patient, compassionate, and adaptable

• Strong communicator who values collaboration with families

Requirements:

• Ability to pass a caregiver/criminal background check

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Reliable transportation and strong attendance
