Entry-Level Low Voltage Cable Technician
Location: Columbus, OH
Schedule: Monday–Friday 1st Shift & 2nd Shift Available
Overtime and Saturday work may be requiredAbout the Role
We are seeking Entry-Level Low Voltage Cable Technicians to join a growing team supporting large-scale commercial and data center environments in the Columbus, OH area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in structured cabling and telecommunications.
Ideal candidates are reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience with copper and fiber cabling, industry-standard tools, and best practices—all while being paid.What You’ll Be Doing
As an Entry-Level Technician, you will be trained and supported while performing tasks such as:
Pulling, dressing, securing, and labeling Cat5e/Cat6 cable in racks and pathways
Assisting with RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations (with guidance)
Learning and performing basic punch-down terminations on telecom blocks
Properly labeling and identifying cables according to standards
Supporting cable testing and troubleshooting using tools such as Fluke or EXFO (under supervision)
Gaining exposure to fiber optic cabling, including basic handling and dressing
Following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized worksite
Taking direction from senior technicians, leads, and supervisorsSchedule & Work Environment
Monday–Friday, 1st and 2nd shift options
Overtime and some Saturdays may be required, depending on project needs
Work is performed in large commercial / data center environments
Must be comfortable standing, walking, bending, and working with tools throughout the shiftRequired & Preferred Qualifications
Required:
Entry-level interest in low voltage, cabling, or telecom work
Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Must not have worked at this specific data center campus within the past 6 months
Preferred (Not Required):
Any experience with cable installation, structured cabling, or low voltage systems
Exposure to Cat5e / Cat6 cabling or basic terminations
Construction, warehouse, or hands-on labor experience
Familiarity with punch-downs, labeling, or cable testing toolsSkills Gained in This Role

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
