Job Description
The Fabricator sets up and operates a wide range of fabrication equipment to cut, bend, form, punch, drill, and finish metal components according to detailed blueprints and work orders. This role performs layout, measurement, and inspection tasks, carries out routine equipment maintenance, and ensures that all parts meet quality and dimensional specifications. The Fabricator works with both small and large machinery, handles raw steel material using overhead cranes and fork trucks, and completes required production and inventory documentation.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, punch presses, drill presses (large and small), metal rolling equipment, milling machines, lathes, shears, and other sheet metal processing equipment.
Perform layout duties, including accurately transferring information from blueprints to workpieces using scribes, tape measures, squares, protractors, punches, and other measuring devices.
Carry out metal finishing operations such as tapping holes, deburring, filing, grinding, and polishing on sawed and machined parts using hand, bench, and light machine tools.
Select proper speeds and feeds, tooling, and operational sequences based on the material type and the nature of the operation to achieve optimal quality and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance on fabrication equipment, including changing punches and dies, monitoring machines for proper function and calibration, and removing debris to maintain safe and efficient operation.
Utilize overhead cranes and fork trucks to safely receive raw bar stock steel, inspect materials, verify packing lists, and store steel inventory in designated locations.
Ensure accuracy of part alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, and machine order, and perform general inspection to confirm conformance to quality standards.
Set up and operate shears, punches, presses, and other equipment to perform cutting, bending, punching, burning, and slotting processes that meet quality and dimensional requirements.

Work Environment
This is a Monday through Thursday. The facility is very clean and well lit, providing a comfortable and safe working environment. Fabrication and assembly teams typically work in groups of 2 to 6 people, fostering collaboration and support on the shop floor. The workplace uses quality tools, including Milwaukee-branded equipment. The environment is production-focused yet maintains a supportive, team-oriented culture.Job Type & Location

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
