Retail Sales Associate

Job Description

Eastern Floral and Gift Shop is seeking a motivated and experienced Customer Service and Retail Sales Associate to join our team. We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong focus on delivering excellent customer experiences, and a solid work ethic.

This position offers 35-40 hours per week. Shifts are scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., as well as Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with availability required for two Saturdays per month.

Key Job Functions

Customer Service & Sales

· Welcome customers with a positive, professional attitude and assist with product selection

· Recommend floral arrangements, gifts, and add-ons tailored to the customer’s needs and occasions

· Build rapport and foster repeat business through outstanding service

· Provide excellent in-store and phone customer service by assisting with product selection, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive customer experience, as these interactions are central to our business

Order Management

· Accurately process in-store, phone, and online orders using our POS system

Floral Handling & Shop Support

· Support floral designers with basic arrangement tasks and bouquet preparation

· Monitor inventory in the cooler and help maintain a fresh, attractive sales floor

Cashiering & POS Operation

· Complete sales transactions, issue receipts, and manage returns or exchanges in accordance with store policy

· Maintain cash register accuracy and handle payments securely

Store Presentation & Maintenance

· Ensure the showroom is tidy and well-stocked

· Help maintain cleanliness and organization of both customer and work areas.

· Complete other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations

Experience and Qualifications Requirements

· 2 years of customer service experience preferred including phone sales

· Demonstrate strong organizational skills, high proficiency in tasks, and excellent spelling and grammar with close attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Customer-focused mindset with a track record of providing exceptional service and ability to solve problems effectively

· Friendly and approachable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of the floral industry and Teleflora a plus

· Ability to navigate POS (RTI) system a plus

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

· Must be able to lift, bend, and twist

· Ability to push and pull loads

· Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance

· Good hand-eye coordination
