Overview of the Position:
The physician services generalist will be responsible for assisting the Director of Physician Services as well as the members of the physician services department as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, health care administration, or similar focus is preferred
Very strong leadership and problem solving skills, as well as written and oral communication skills
Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, including, evenings, early mornings, and/or weekends
Valid SC driver’s license, and have reliable transportationRequired Skills / Abilities:
Excellent public speaking, presentation, and written communication skills, computer skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
Ability to perform effectively and handle multiple tasks
Proficient in Excel and other computer applications
Must have professional demeanor and appearance as well as excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external clients, physicians, providers, and faculty
Highly organized professional with strong attention to detail in daily tasks
Essential Job Functions:
These functions will be performed ……. and will be the responsibility of the incumbent working with the provider, clinical staff and non-clinical staff to ensure excellence in service for the patient.
Organize and complete tasks with optimal efficiency
Prepare department email communications to providers upon request
Create and maintain all provider databases/reports as requested ensuring accuracy and validity of data including but not limited to:
Appreciation Tracking
Provider preferences
Pharmacy NPI Tracking
APP Supervision Lists
Ad hoc reports requested by supervisor or AVP – PHS
Assist with scheduling and planning meetings and appointments for both AVP – PHS and Director of Physician Services as needed
Assist Director of Physician Services with planning department events including but not limited to: provider socials, department meetings, provider lunch and learns, etc.
Assist with gathering provider review documentation
Collect peer, administration and self-evaluations ahead of schedule
Assist with provider recruitment
Schedule candidate interviews as back up
Setting up logistics for on-site interviews
Complete provider CME reimbursement/other reimbursement requests as needed by collecting and verifying all submissions.
Complete monthly AMEX reports and submit to finance for AVP – PHS and Director or Physician Services
Assist with pre- and post-hiring process with various departments for onboarding providers including but not limited to:
Coordinating provider headshot with CRD
Complete necessary electronic onboarding forms and disperse to necessary parties
Perform receptionist and other assistant and coordinating duties as needed.
Monitor department supplies and order as needed
Work with procurement analyst to order provider related items
Submit PO request in Work Order for department members
Aid in scheduling the department vehicle for all team members
Order and Pick-up/Deliver provider related items – lab coats, appointment cards, promotional materials, gifts, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Vision: Visual acuity adequately to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted in normal daily activities and up to 30 lbs. for other required work activities. Additionally, requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (especially if keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
