Job Title: Finish Carpenter
Job Description
This role focuses on commercial finish carpentry across multiple sites in the Columbus and Central Ohio area. You will install cabinets, doors and door hardware, FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic), vinyl wall protection, wood blocking, and plywood sheathing, ensuring high-quality finishes in office remodels, apartments, and nursing facilities. The position requires strong technical carpentry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently on active construction sites.
Responsibilities
Install cabinets and cabinetry components according to specifications and project plans.
Install doors and door hardware, ensuring proper alignment, function, and finish quality.
Perform finish carpentry, including detailed trim work, casing, and other final wood finishes.
Install FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) wall panels and vinyl wall protection systems with clean, precise finishes.
Install wood blocking and plywood sheathing to support cabinets, fixtures, and other building elements.
Read and interpret measurements using a tape measure to cut, fit, and install materials accurately.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, and finishing carpentry work.
Work on commercial construction projects including office remodels, apartment buildings, and nursing home facilities.
Perform rough carpentry tasks as needed, including framing and general labor support.
Collaborate with site supervisors and project teams to complete tasks on schedule and to required quality standards.
Follow site safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area at each job site.
Travel between assigned job sites in Sunbury, Westerville, and Downtown Columbus as project needs require.
Essential Skills
Commercial construction experience.
At least 2 years of carpentry experience.
At least 1 year of experience in finish carpentry.
Proficiency in finish carpentry, including trim work and detailed finishing.
Experience with door installation and door hardware installation.
Ability to install cabinets and perform cabinet blocking.
Skilled in using hand tools and basic power tools for carpentry tasks.
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for cutting and fitting materials.
Experience with rough carpentry and general labor on construction sites.
Familiarity with commercial construction environments and workflows.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience installing FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) panels and vinyl wall protection.
Experience in framing and working with metal studs.
Experience in new construction as well as remodel projects.
Ability to install wood blocking and plywood sheathing for cabinets and fixtures.
Comfort working on a variety of commercial sites, including offices, apartments, and nursing facilities.

Work Environment
You will work on active commercial construction sites in Columbus and Central Ohio, including locations in Sunbury, Westerville, and Downtown Columbus. Projects include office remodels, apartment buildings, and nursing home facilities. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts running from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and overtime is rare except on certain jobs. Work is hands-on and physically active, involving the use of hand tools, power tools, and standard construction materials in a field-based setting.Job Type & Location

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
