Fabrication - Hardware Assistant
Pay: $19 - $20/hr.
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 3:15pm - 1:45am
Job Summary
The Fabrication - Hardware Assistant is a base support position with strong growth potential, ideal for candidates interested in building a long-term career in precision metal manufacturing. The role supports multiple shop floor departments including fabrication, hardware insertion, finishing, packaging/shipping, and powder prep, with on-the-job training and cross-training provided. This position offers hands-on exposure to metal fabrication processes, tooling, and equipment used to produce high-quality products for the power, medical, telecommunications, technology, and food industries.
Responsibilities
Support multiple shop floor departments including Fabrication, Hardware Insertion, Finishing, Shipping/Packaging, and Powder Prep
Assist with metal fabrication, assembly, and hardware insertion processes (training provided)
Read or learn to read and follow prints, work instructions, and job travelers
Operate finishing equipment such as fladders, hand grinders, and deburring tools
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
Assist with assembly of metal cabinetry and ancillary products
Identify and handle various metals including steel and aluminum
Load, move, and organize materials and parts; use pallet jacks as needed
Perform visual inspections to ensure parts meet quality and specification requirements
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
Work collaboratively with team members and take direction from supervisors
Adapt to changing daily assignments based on production needs
Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Frequent bending, twisting, standing, stooping, sitting, walking, and reaching overhead.
Other Requirements:
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
