Overview

The French Section of Taipei European School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated French speaking Supply Learning Assistant to assist the Class Teacher in the smooth running of the classroom and support learning. You will be assigned to cover staff absences and work with various student groups, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Responsibilities

Assists in the preparation of the classroom and activities as required by the teacher.

Takes in charge a group of students when asked by the teacher.

Informs relevant school personnel of any concerns regarding the students.

Knows and respects the School Child Protection policies.

Supports student's social and emotional well-being and engagement in learning as well as safeguards their health and safety in accordance with the school’s regulations and policy statements.

Contributes to the supervision of the children in the playground in accordance with the duty rota.

Performs any other duties, deemed reasonable and as required by Line Manager and/or Head of Section.

Qualifications

Fluent in French and English (essential).

Degree in Education, Childhood Education, Special Education or relevant field from a recognized University, or a qualification/certification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or relevant field.

A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a school or similar setting.

Relevant Experience

Experience of working with early year and primary years children, or supporting students in a pastoral, or wellbeing role (desirable).

Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and willingness to take additional certifications.

Experience of working in international schools (integrated curriculum - French, British, German, American, Canadian) would be a significant advantage.

Familiarity with multicultural settings is a plus.
