Health and Biomedical Research Center is a new facility at Al imam university in Riyadh, that has been established to undertake research in Cancer, Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular and infectious diseases using the latest technology provided by state of the art Genomics, Proteomics, Clinical Mass spectrometry, Drug design, histology and animal studies platforms.

Role: Assist with the development and improvement of current and future Core technologies and services

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Act as supervisor for the Genomic Service Platform

• Offer a portfolio of services to Principal investigators in the genomics platform

• Operate Agilent’s SureScan microarray and develop new applications when required.

• Performs large-scale gene expression analyses

• Operation of OneStep real time PCR.

• Analysis of data from microarrays, methylation arrays, and next-generation sequencing data sets.

• Operate Next generation sequencer as Ion Proton and PGM sequencer

• Assess protein expression by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation.

• Maintains the integrity of the laboratory database through LIMS

Work Experience Requirements

• The applicant should have experience in molecular biology with demonstrated experience supporting genomics technologies in the microarray, quantitative and digital PCR, and next-generation sequencing areas. The ability to work independently, perform multiple tasks simultaneously and service-oriented communication skills are critical.

• Basic and advanced recombinant DNA (molecular cloning) methodologies, tissue culture, reporter gene assays, Southern, Northern, and Western blotting approaches, real-time PCR, microarray analysis of gene expression, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation.

• Computational biology skills for analysis of data from microarrays, methylation arrays, and next-generation sequencing data sets.

Education Requirements

• Msc or PhD in Molecular Biology, Human genetics, Medical technology or related

• More than 3 year experience in Genomics platform instrumentation.
