Career Opportunity: Credit Relationship Officers (2 Positions) A Tier 1 Deposit-Taking Sacco is seeking to recruit two (2) Credit Relationship Officers.

The positions will initially be based in Nairobi, with the possibility of deployment or transfer to any other branch depending on operational requirements.

The successful candidates will support the growth, quality, and management of the Sacco’s credit portfolio across a diverse membership base, including MSMEs, agribusinesses, organized groups, individual businesses, and salaried employees.

Key Roles and Responsibilities Identify and recruit new members to grow the credit book in line with set branch targets.

Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed credit appraisal reports in compliance with internal SLAs and Credit Policy.

Offer financial advisory support, and identify cross-selling opportunities to members.

Manage the assigned loan portfolio, ensuring timely repayments and proactive follow-up on non-performing loans.

Monitor loan maturities, securities, applicable rates, insurance status, and instalment arrears to support effective portfolio management.

Ensure all new accounts and loan applications comply with KYC and AML/CFT requirements.

Maintain complete and up-to-date credit files, including securities, insurance records, and call reports.

Initiate and follow up on institutional agreements and check-off arrangements to expand the Sacco’s reach.

Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in credit management, preferably handling MSME or agribusiness portfolios within a Sacco, microfinance institution, or bank.

Strong proficiency in credit risk analysis, financial statement interpretation, and portfolio monitoring.

In-depth understanding of SASRA Prudential Guidelines, the Data Protection Act, and KYC/AML requirements.

Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, self-drive, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
