Senior Estimator Columbus, OH $135K–$175K Base About the Opportunity A growing Columbus-based design-build firm is seeking a Senior Estimator to play a key role in leading preconstruction efforts across a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial work.

Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Estimator with strong preconstruction experience and the ability to independently lead estimates on complex construction projects.

The ideal candidate is someone comfortable owning full estimates, managing subcontractor coverage, evaluating risk, and working directly with leadership through key pursuit stages.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead full-cycle estimating efforts across negotiated and competitive pursuitsReview drawings, specifications, and conceptual documents to establish complete project pricingPrepare quantity takeoffs, budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed cost analysisSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricingLevel bids and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk areasParticipate in value engineering and pricing strategy discussionsWork closely with operations leadership during preconstruction and turnoverSupport budgeting efforts early in project developmentPresent estimate findings and recommendations internally QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred8+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience with a General Contractor, CM, or similar construction environmentExperience leading estimates on commercial or industrial projectsStrong understanding of conceptual estimating, hard bids, and negotiated workAbility to work independently and communicate clearly with leadership and project teamsProficiency with estimating software and construction documents Compensation & BenefitsBase salary: $135,000 – $175,000 depending on experienceBonus and profit sharingFull benefits packagePTOLong-term growth opportunity Why This Role Stands OutStrong compensation bandImmediate visibility with company leadershipOpportunity to influence preconstruction decisions directlyMeaningful seat within a growing organization
