Sunrise Services, INC. is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our Supported Living Program! We’re looking for dedicated, confident, and detail-oriented Direct Support Professionals to support clients with higher behavioral and medical needs. This is a role for someone who takes pride in doing the job 100% right, every time.

Our ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, experience administering medication, is engaging with the client, and does not let the client intimidate them easily.

About the Program:

The Supported Living Program (SL) provides community living services for adults with a wide range of disabilities and mental health challenges. The SL program promotes self-determination, independence, and competence for clients.

Direct Support Professionals work with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting, assisting clients with activities ranging from personal grooming and meal preparation to shopping, housekeeping and recreational outings. Help the clients build skills they need to live independently and thrive in life! You’ll be supporting a client who requires medicine, patience, and strong boundaries. The right DSP can make a meaningful difference in their safety, progress, and quality of life.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Attend training as required.

Medication administration as mandated and trained, with 100% compliance.

Ability to read and understand the care plan and ask questions as needed.

Support participants to:

Shop, bank, eat, work, worship and make friends within the community.

Provide transportation for the client.

Meet with others and participate in activities with other members of the community.

Foster positive self-esteem and a sense of self-worth.

Foster opportunities to choose valued social roles.

Support opportunities to influence perceptions of the person’s value by self and others.

Assist clients with personal care or home management tasks.

Perform home management tasks such as laundry, shopping, and light housekeeping.

Assist with making and preparing meals.

Peri-care as needed.

Maintain positive and courteous relationships with clients.

Accompany clients to events or on community outings.

Assist with personal grooming as needed.

Use a tablet and a program (Therap) to track medications and behaviors.

Assist with other tasks as needed.

Requirements: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)

Education: High school diploma or GED

Other Considerations:

Must be able to pass a DSHS background check

Must have a valid driver's license, a clean 1 year driving abstract, and proof of car insurance with a minimum of $50,000 liability.

Fingerprinting required

Must attend mandatory training classes

Obtain NAR and complete Nurse Delegation training within 30 days of completing mandatory training. Ability to be delegated by a Registered Nurse is required before working with clients who need nurse delegated medications.

Use a tablet to log medication and client behaviors

Shifts:

Full & part-time available

Morning, day, overnights available

Must work one mandatory weekend shift

Compensation:

$21 - $22.95/hour. Plus an additional $3 in differential pay

Differential pay and sign on bonuses are applied when working with qualifying clients.

Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications/licensure.

Benefits:

Paid vacation - Earned at .04 per hour worked for hourly employees, and 6.67 per month for salary (equates to about 2 weeks per year for full-time employees)

Sick Leave - 1 hour per 40 hours worked (equates to about 52 hours for full-time)
