Job Title: Web Developer 2 (WordPress Developer)We're seeking a talented WordPress Developer to support the development, migration, and maintenance of high-visibility gaming websites. This role is part of an internal web team responsible for delivering scalable, engaging, and accessible web experiences for major game titles across the ecosystem.
This is a staff augmentation role designed to support ongoing projects and evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Migrate existing WordPress websites to a new hosting platform
Update WordPress Sage themes (version 9 to version 11)
Develop and maintain multiple websites (including titles like Flight Simulator)
Build scalable, user-friendly, and accessible web experiences
Contribute to automation pipelines and web infrastructure improvements
Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent performance
Collaborate with internal teams in an agile development environment Required Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in web development
Proven experience migrating WordPress websites between hosting platforms
Experience upgrading WordPress Sage themes (v9 v11)
Strong back-end development skills in PHP
Solid front-end development experience with:
HTML5
CSS3
JavaScript
jQuery
Deep understanding of WordPress core functions, filters, and actions
Experience with build tools such as Webpack, NPM, or Yarn
Experience with SASS and Bootstrap
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Experience with cross-browser and device testing
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
Experience with automated testing
Experience working in agile development environments
Knowledge of user authentication and authorization systems Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience working on large-scale WordPress sites (e.g., universities, media organizations)
Stable work history with project-based roles (no frequent short-term job changes)
